Hiking for a day in Rupakot provides you an opportunity to explore a rural settlement with natural beauties and cultural diversities. The hiking to Rupakot offers enchanting views of lakes, Himalayas, green Hills and valleys. Bhimsen Danda, Kirakhor, Kotbhairab Temple, Rupakot Resort, Chisapani and Bhirchowk are the prime attraction of this route.
We start hiking ascending to Bhimsen Danda leaving Rupa Lake below. Bhimsen Danda is the settlement by the fishermen and the farmers. Viewing scintillating view of Rupa Lake, we reach to Kirakhor. Kirakhor means Tiger’s den. Kirakhor is the little village inhabited by mixed ethnic groups. Kotbhairab next to Kirakhor has religious significance. It is regarded as a sacred place with some temples. This is the best place for 360 degree view, photography, bird watching, sunrise and sun set.
After half an hour we reach to Rupakot Resort,which is a newly built luxury resort. After spending an hour, we go to Chisapani. It is a beautiful Gurung village. We can find this place surrounded by the pine and rhododendron forests. We descend to Bhirchowk and continuously to Rupakot Resort. This is how we conclude our day tour to Rupakot and return back to Pokhara. This is an initiation for a new destination. Day 01Drive from Pokhara to Rupa Lake, hike up to Bhimsen Danda, Kirakhor, and Rupakot Resort; drive back to PokharaAfter breakfast, we drive to Rupa Lake from hotel in Pokhara. It is about 45 minutes drive to Rupa Lake. After this, we hike up to Bhimsen Danda. It is an hour walk through jungle then reach to Kirakhor. We walk about one and half hours throughout the top of the hill and arrive at Kotbhairav temple. After half an hour walk, we reach to Rupakot Resort. After spending an hour in the resort, we take 10 minutes drive to Phalbhanjyang then walk 30 minutes to Chisapani. We descend from Chisapani to and arrive at Bhirchowk, a Gurung Village. From Bhirchowk, it takes about half an hour to descend to Rupakot Resort, then from there, we drive back to Pokhara.
