Show AllPathivara Devi is the powerful goddess worshipped by both Hindus and Buddhists with a great reverence. This temple is located in Taplejung district of Nepal. It is 19.4km east of Phungling Municipality of Taplejung district at the altitude of 3,794m. The goddess is known as Mukkumlung. It is considered one of the holy places of Kirants. Many people from different parts of the country as well as from India visit the temple during special occasions seeking spiritual fulfillment and blessings from the powerful Pathibhara Devi. This is the famous Shakti Peeth where people sacrifice animals and offer the gold, silver to please the goddess. The goddess is named with many other names like Maha Maya, AadiKali, Maha Rudri and taken her as a tantric goddess.
The monasteries situated at Olangchungola, the waterfall at Sawa and the rich vegetation and the wild life are the prime attraction of this place. If anyone would like to trek there around, the Limbu Cultural trek will be enthralling.Pathibhara can be reached walking 1.5 hours from Phungling Bazaar to Suketar and 5-6 hours from Suketar to the temple. Suketar Airport (2,840 m) is the only one airport in Taplejung District that connects Kathmandu and Biratnagar. There good food and lodging facilitiesThe best time to visit is from March to June and September to November.

Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350 m) and Transfer to the hotelAfter you get off the plane, you pass through the passage where the panels are hung on the wall those identify the country and you approach the custom clearance section. After the custom formalities, you arrive in the exit door of the airport. Our representative from Himkala Adventure will be waiting for your arrival and greets you heartily and transfers you to hotel at Thamel. Thamel is 5 km west from airport which is touristy place and you could recreate a lot with its old and new architectures, many different souvenirs shops, restaurants, narrow lanes, artistic wooden arts and crafts etc. Overnight at Kathmandu
Day 02Sightseeing of UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kathmandu Valley After breakfast, we begin our sightseeing, first we head towards Swoyambhu Stupa or people call it lovingly ‘The monkey Temple’, perched on hill 3 km west of Thamel. It is the great place to get your bearings, geographically and culturally. The hill commands a sweeping view of the Kathmandu Valley. It is a real eye opener. The monks and the visitors walking around Stupa , the monkeys running here and there, seems playful and the old stupa with Buddha eyes painted in all its four sides is the most profound expression of Buddhist symbolism in Nepal. Tantric Buddhists consider it the chief power point of the Kathmandu valley. After this, we come to teeming, touristy Kathmandu Durbar Square which is known by other names like Hanuman Dhoka, Basantapur. It has many Hindu temples, the Kumari – the living goddess Gaddhi Baithak, Nasal Chowk where the coronation would take place. The third place we visit is Boudhanath Stupa, which is about 6 km from Kathmandu, is one of the largest stupas in the world. It is generally acknowledged to be the most important Tibetan Buddhist monument outside Tibet. Tibetans simply call it Chorten Chempo or “Great Stupa”. This has been the Mecca of Tibetan exiles in Nepal. The fourth place for today’s sightseeing is Pashupatinath – the Shiva Temple, the temple of supreme Hindu God. It is Nepal’s holiest pilgrimage sites where we can see a time warp enclave of exotic temples, cremation ghats, ritual bathers and half naked Sadhus. After the sightseeing of these four places, we return back to hotel in Thamel. Overnight at Kathmandu
Day 03Drive from Kathmandu to Birtamod, 12 hrs by bus. Overnight at hotelWe drive from Kathmandu to Birtamod which takes about 12 hours. It is about 506 km east from Kathmandu. The long journey may be boring but we are hopeful with the natural beauty to witness while trekking to Pathivara. Overnight at Birtamod
Day 04Drive from Birtamod to Taplejung, 12 hrs by bus. Overnight at hotel We again drive from Birtamod to Taplejung Bazaaar (about 300 km, the road from Birtamod to Phidim, the district headquarters of Panchthar district is a metallic one and from there on, some sections are metallic while others are being black-topped). Overnight at Taplejung
Day 05Trek from Taplejung to Suketar, 2.5 hrs, and then walk to Deurali. Overnight at hotel After Breakfast, we walk up to Suketar. It will take about 2 and half hours to reach to suketar. We observe the surroundings and local lifestyle along the trail. We will have a lunch over the side. Afterwards we will walk up to the Deurali. Overnight at Deurali
Day 06Trek from Deurali to Phedi, 4-5 hrs. Overnight in lodge at Phedi After breakfast, we begin our journey to Phedi which takes about 4-5 hours. The trek is really pleasant savoring the natural beauty around. Overnight at Phedi
Day 07Trek from Phedi to Pathibhara Devi, 2.5 hrs,Back to Phedi. Overnight at lodgeWe begin our trek from Phedi to Pathivara Devi. We can view Kanchenjungha range and Kumbhakarna Himal on the way. The dense forest with many kinds of birds, butterflies and the plants nourish our soul. After 2 and half an hours walk, we reach to Pathivara Devi. We worship, and stroll around the site then return back to Phedi again. Overnight at Phedi
Day 08Trek back from Phedi to Suketar, 4-5 hrs. Overnight at lodge After breakfast, we walk from Phedi to Suketar. We visit the local monastery. It takes about 4-5 hours on foot. Overnight at Suketar
Day 09Fly back from Suketar or via Biratnagar. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu Suketar is only STOL airstrip in Taplejung district and is connected to Kathmandu and Biratnagar by scheduled flights. The airport in Suketar (under renovation) can only accommodate aircraft Short Take-off and Landing. So, we fly from Suketar to Kathmandu. Overnight at Kathmandu
Day 10Transfer to the International Airport Your trip to Pathivara Devi Pilgrimage Tour ends today. We depart you to airport 3 hours before your scheduled flight.
