Namtso means heavenly lake. This is considered one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. Namtso Lake is the beautiful, turquoise, crystal-clear, blue water lake, situated at an altitude of 4,718 m and it has covered 1961 square km. Hiking to Namtso Lake is the favored among the visitors in Tibet. The salt water lake is 70 km long and 30 km wide. Nyechen Tangla, 7000 m high mountain ranges further beautifies the lake from its background. Namtso has five uninhabited islands of reasonable size and are treasure like for this area. Local Nomads are scattering around the Lake in tents, show their approving smile and wave hands, make this scenario really live.
It is 190 km far from Lhasa to Namtso Lake. It is 4 hours drive and one has to cross the Yangpachen Pass (5,630 m). Proper acclimatization for this hike is necessary. The appropriate time for Namtso trek is late May to October. It is a remote part of the Tibet and one has to carry all the required things.

Day 02:Sightseeing around Lhasa (3,660 m): The Potala Palace, Barkhor & Jokhang Temple. O/N at Hotel
Day 03:Sightseeing in Lhasa (3660m): Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery. O/N at Hotel
Day 04:Drive to Shigatse (3900m) / 250km. O/N at Hotel
Day 05:Shigatse to Namtso Lake (4718m) Bali Village/Droja Monastery. O/N at Camp
Day 06:Drive back to Shigatse. Visit Tashilunpo Monastery. O/N at Hotel
Day 07:Drive to Lhatse (4050M) 90km, 3 hrs. O/N at Hotel
Day 08:Drive to Zhangmu (3600m). O/N at Guest house
Day 09:Drive to Kodari – Kathmandu. O/N at Hotel in Kathmandu
