Show AllThe most exciting, all in one hiking in Kathmandu Valley Fringe Hiking is Nagarkot to Changunarayan. Mostly people get tempted for sunrise or sunset, 300 km ranges extended great Himalayan view, 360 degrees view of Kathmandu Valley.We wake up early morning and drive to Nagarkot from Kathmandu. It takes one hour 15 minutes to reach to the top where there is a small hill top, a tower at the height of 2175 m. The lush green forest, the sound of cicada, the chirping sound of Spiny Babbler, only bird one can see in Nepal can be spotted here in Nagarkot.
Nagarkot means the city of Fort. It was the old fort and the w at to trade route in the past, and still we have a military posts, war Academy.We descend down to Nagarkot village , walk around , see the terraced farm land, the way of living of Tamang people, visit old Mahankal temple and heading down to Tel kot. We visit a Shanti Danda, a Buddha Hill and follow the route to Jalpa Devi Temple. The stunning view of Sankhu from is never deleted from the memory. Sankhu is an old Newari settlement, a land very fertile and grow potatoes a lot every year. After short break in Telkot, we walk about one and half hour to Changunarayan, the oldest temple in Kathmandu valley. This temple is famous for its stone sculptures.

Once we get sunrise and Mountain View, we drive down to Nagarkot village and explore around. Then we hike all the way over the hill ridges to Changunarayan. We visit two important places on the way and they are Peace Hill with Buddha statue along with park and little cafe and another Jalpa Devi, Mother Goddess Temple.
