Champadevi is the popular hiking destination to enjoy the day hike in the southwestern rim of the Kathmandu valley. This is the highest viewing point of the Chandragiri range. The eastern summit is known as Champadevi, after the resident goddess. It is 19 km. far from Kathmandu and takes one hour to reach to Pharping village by car.

The easiest ascent route to Champadevi begins from the north of Pharping up to the Hattiban Resort. From the resort, a well – trodden track leads northwest up and down through pine forest, along the grassy ridge top to the Buddhist stupa and Hindu shrine. It is the best place for the superb view of Langtang, Gauri Shankar, Jugal, Dorje Lakpa and others.

There are other alternative ways like from beyond Taudaha climbing westwards along the dirt roads to the ridge above Hattiban Resort and from the northern side of the Pharping Valley. The trail begins at the monastery immediately west of the Bajra yogini temple

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 01:Drive from Kathmandu to Pharping up to Hattiban Resort, then follow the well trodden track up to Champadevi. Visit around the temple and retrace back to Resort. Drive back to Kathmandu

Detail Itinerary

Day 01Drive from Kathmandu to Pharping up to Hattiban Resort, then follow the well trodden track up to Champadevi. Visit around the temple and retrace back to Resort. Drive back to KathmanduAfter breakfast, we drive from hotel to Hattiban Resort, about 22 km from Kathmandu. It takes an hour to be there by car via Chovar, gorge, Taudaha. After then we follow the track northwest through the pine forest. There is a Champadevi goddess shrine which is revered by both Hindu and Buddhists. It is the best view point in the valley to see mountains like Langtang, Gauri Shankar, Dorje Lakpa and others. The Pharping valley and the Taudaha from the height of 2,285 m looks panoramic. After this, we return back to Resort and drive back to Kathmandu
